The Somerset natural bedstead is one of our most popular classic beds. Offering 2” side posts for strength and longevity, finished off with solid brass top caps and brass bed knobs*. This bedstead suggests elegance at its finest with sweeping curved brass top rails for that extra layer of class.

There are no bolts or welds on the Somerset bed design.
Hand cast at our Cornwall foundry and made with all the traditional fixings you would expect from an authentic re-production.
The Somerset can be manufactured as a bedstead, bed surround, headboard, four-poster bed, or as a bedstead with no foot end. You can order your Somerset in any of our favourite 13 colour options or in any colour not shown for an extra £100**. We cast our beds to exacting standards using time-honoured skills and craftsmanship.

The bed looks timelessly stylish and was expertly assembled in my room by the really helpful delivery drivers. The craftsmanship is evident and the bed is really sturdy. The new mattress I got to go with it from Naturalmat is like sleeping on a cloud! I have not slept this well in years! The staff at my local Cornish Beds/Naturalmat shop were fantastic from start to finish, and I felt very well looked after. Well worth the investment.

Cornish beds are handmade in four standard sizes; single 3ft (90cm wide), double 4'6" (135cm wide), king size 5ft (150cm wide) and super king size 6ft (180cm wide).
The standard lengths for single and double bed is 6'3" king size and super king size beds are 6'6" in length.

All our cast beds and daybeds are powder coated in the foundry by us, for a long lasting and robust finish in any of our standard range of house colours below. If you do not see a colour that fits, please contact our sales team on 01726 825 182 to discuss our custom colour service.

We complement our beds with a collection of mattresses that are all made by hand in Devon by our parent company, Naturalmat. The mattresses are a perfect fit for our beds, and cover all budgets.
