Cornish Bed Company Point of Difference

Cornish Beds are made with the very best materials including heavy duty cast brass finials and top caps, durable powder coated finishes, antiqued and lacquered brassware and are complemented with superbly supportive and robust bed bases. We will assemble your bed in the room of your choice upon delivery.

Lesser quality metal beds will use thinner cheaper sections of metal, and are likely to use thin spun metal finishes, and without the proper knuckle joint can be flimsy. Cornish beds are built to last and our longstanding heritage confirms their everlasting appeal.

Beds made to last a lifetime

The Cornish Bed Company was set up back in the 1990s to maintain the production of traditional iron and brass beds in the UK.

Hand crafted by our skilled craftsmen in Cornwall, these beds are manufactured using traditional Victorian casting techniques and feature Victorian cast knuckle fixings, promising a lifetime guarantee. The zinc is hand poured at temperatures exceeding 500°C and the cast knuckle joints with individual numbering make every bed unique.

A proud tradition of bed manufacturing in Cornwall

All our beds are hand crafted in the heart of Cornwall using traditional foundry casting techniques. We have been making beds for over 25 years with a dedicated team who have honed their skills to the highest level.

We take satisfaction in knowing we produce the best beds found anywhere in the world, and we do that right here in Cornwall.

Hand Crafted Beds

cast knuckle joint

Every bed has our unique cast knuckle joint to attach the side rails to the head and foot of the bed. This self locking system ensures a lifetime of service, and is incomparable to modern flat pack beds that are held together with often flimsy bolts. The range includes traditional iron, brass and nickel beds, day beds, four posters, half testers and headboards, and we also offer a host of bespoke options in addition to all the standard sizes.

Top Quality Craftsmanship

Why buy from Cornish Beds

As one of the last foundries left in the UK we continue to make by hand the highest quality metal bed frames with over 100 years of combined know how. Properly made sturdy beds, with solid cast joints and heavy gauge iron or brass, with no compromise. We do not use flimsy bolts that can rattle loose with age, instead our beds are made using the traditional cast knuckle joint which is guaranteed for life. We always include a fully sprung slatted bed base as standard, or offer upholstered bed bases as an option. Each bed is individually made to order just for you.
