Inspired by the crushing waves of Cornwall's coastline, Porthilly brings serene sophistication to your bedroom: a wavy, upholstered headboard framed by timeless metalwork, its gentle silhouette whispering coastal calm and quiet craftsmanship.
Hand-cast at our Cornwall foundry using our signature gravity-poured techniques and authentic Victorian knuckle joint fixings, the Porthilly bears the hallmarks of heritage craftsmanship that only strengthens with the years.
The upholstered headboard is masterfully crafted by the talented team of our sister company, Naturalmat, and filled with organic wool and recycled denim for a soft support on your head, shoulders and back, as you rest in bed.
Pick from peach-skin Linara cotton-linen blend fabric, House Wool fabrics featuring herringbone and plain styles with the signature wool texture or have your Porthilly headboard upholstered in your own fabric. As standard, the piping on the headboard comes in the same fabric colour as the rest of the headboard. The Porthilly can be manufactured as a bedstead, bed surround, headboard, four-poster bed or as a bedstead with no foot end. You can order your Porthilly in any of our house metal colour options or in any colour not shown starting from an extra £100. As standard, your Porthilly will come with brass finials. If you prefer to have the brass top caps painted in the colour of your choice, please let us know in the "comments box" at in your basket or if you prefer nickel finials, an extra £100 charge will apply.

All our cast iron, brass and nickel beds, including our four posters are available in the nine standard UK mattress sizes. As we craft our beds to order, just for you, so we can customize the size of your bed as required.

The actual footprint of the bed varies by design and is slightly larger than the standard UK bed size, so please do measure your room to ensure enough clearance is available and refer to the table below for overall width and length of your chosen design.

Metal Colours
All our cast beds, daybeds, benches, footstools and headboards are powder coated in the foundry by us, for a long lasting and robust finish in any of our standard range of house colours. Natural Mattresses
We complement our handcrafted metal beds with a collection of natural mattresses that are all made by hand in Devon by our sister company, Naturalmat. The mattresses are a perfect fit for our beds, and cover all budgets.
Our mattresses are made by hand in a solar-powered Devon workshop with natural & organic fibres. Better for you, and the planet.
