Offering 2” side posts for strength and longevity, finished off with solid brass top caps and brass bed knobs.
Hand cast at our Cornwall foundry and made with all the traditional fixings you would expect from an authentic re-production. There are no bolts or welds on the Somerset headboard design.
The Somerset Headboard can also be manufactured as a bedstead, bed surround, four-poster bed or as a bedstead with no foot end. You can order your Somerset Headboard in any of our house metal colour options or in any colour not shown starting from an extra £100. If you would like to swap brass details for nickel on your headboard, our team would be happy to personalise it for you starting from an extra £100, depending on design and brass elements included.
We cast our beds and headboards to exacting standards using time-honoured skills and craftsmanship. Every bed and headboard is made individually to order, numbered, and signed off by one of our craftsmen. With The Cornish Bed Company, you can be confident that your headboard will last lifetimes and will become an antique in the future.
Cornish beds and headboards are handmade in four standard sizes; single 3ft (90cm wide), double 4'6" (135cm wide), king size 5ft (150cm wide) and super king size 6ft (180cm wide).

Metal Colours
All our cast beds, daybeds, benches, footstools and headboards are powder coated in the foundry by us, for a long lasting and robust finish in any of our standard range of house colours. Natural Mattresses
We complement our handcrafted metal beds with a collection of natural mattresses that are all made by hand in Devon by our sister company, Naturalmat. The mattresses are a perfect fit for our beds, and cover all budgets.
Our mattresses are made by hand in a solar-powered Devon workshop with natural & organic fibres. Better for you, and the planet.
