Introducing - The Agnes
This winter, The Cornish Bed Company launches the Agnes bed, a modern take on a traditional Victorian design with authentic castings and smooth curved top rails.

The name Agnes pays homage to the village of St Agnes on the unspoilt Cornish coast. Considered to be the very essence of rural Cornwall, the town retains its old charm and enchanting character, themes that have been carried over to the design of the Agnes bed.

It's all about the details...

Featuring a new handmade head-end cushion which easily clips into place with subtle press fasteners, the cushion is designed to fit any of The Cornish Bed Company’s Cast Iron, Nickel, Brass, Four Poster, and without foot-end bed frames as a customisable comfort option. Perfect for resting against with a weekend paper, the cushion is custom made for each bed to match its rail spacings.

Sturdy and durable, it is made by hand at Devon-based sister company Naturalmat, who fill the cushion with coconut coir, recycled denim and organic lambswool - a fine example of the continued close collaboration between two talented teams of craftsmen.

The cushion can be upholstered in a bespoke fabric of choice, such as Caramel boucle by Bute fabrics as pictured above, or any of the Linara house fabric options for a transformational but practical design element.

True to its traditional Victorian form, the Agnes bed highlights the enduring appeal of authentic craftsmanship and timeless design which is made to last for generations.

With its authentic castings and recognisable curved top rails, the detailed yet minimalist style will suit traditional period homes and more contemporary settings.

The frame is available in a choice of 13 colours including new shades ‘Racing green’ and “Smoke blue’.

During the making process, the raw cast iron bed frame is coloured using a process known as powdercoating, which ensures a robust finish so the colours stand the test of time without chipping or cracking.

The Agnes - your way

The Agnes can be made as a bedstead, bed surround, headboard, or as a bedstead with no foot end, or in a four-poster option.
